Kaspar Wirz • Saskatoon • Para Nordic Skiing

For more than 20 years, Wirz has advanced Para-Nordic skiing within Canada. From 1996-2010, Wirz served as the coach of Canada’s Para-Nordic team, helping to build a program that produced multiple Paralympic medallists, including Brittany Hudak, Colette Bourgonje and Brian McKeever. Wirz is a certified Level 4 coach in both cross-country skiing and biathlon and continues to serve as a biathlon coach and advisor, working with the country’s top Paralympic biathlete, Mark Arendz. Wirz has also participated in committees for Cross Country Canada, the International Paralympics Committee and the Canadian Paralympic Committee and served on many international competition juries. Over the years, Wirz has received multiple coaching awards, including the Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award.
