The Canadian Council of Provincial and Territorial Sport Federations (CCP&TSF) of which Sask Sport Inc. is a member, is recognized by Canadian Revenue Agency - Charities Division under the other qualified donees category as a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletics Association (RCAAA) - business number 88938 6868 RR0001. The purpose of an RCAAA is to develop amateur sport on a national wide basis. The CCP&TSF does this under the name of the National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) by approving projects across the country that contribute to that goal. As a member of the CCP&TSF Sask Sport Inc. has been authorized to operate the Saskatchewan Branch of the NSTF. As the provincial fund manager Sask Sport approves projects, receives donations and allocates grants to approved projects in Saskatchewan. The NSTF-Saskatchewan operates two programs to carry out their mandate.
National Sport Trust Fund
In co-operation with the Canadian Council of Provincial and Territorial Sport Federations (CCP&TSF), Sask Sport Inc. is pleased to be a partner in the National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) initiative. This initiative permits PSO's and their members to access funding for current programs (1 - 5 years) that develop amateur sport. Once a project is approved, PSO's and their member can solicit donation support for that project. A charitable tax receipt can be provided to the donor for qualifying donations. Sask Sport Inc. is pleased to be able to offer its members an opportunity to participate in the National Sport Trust Fund. The program is explained in the NSTF Manual.
Sport Legacy Fund
The Sport Legacy Fund (SLF) program has been developed to assist Sask Sport Inc. member organizations (and their members) in securing long term (5 or more years) funding to sustain their operations. Once a project is approved, PSO's and their member can solicit donation support for that project. A charitable tax receipt can be provided to the donor for qualifying donations. Funding must remain in the Sport Legacy Fund for a minimum of 5 years. The program has various financial incentives which are outlined in the SLF Guidelines & Procedures. Participation in the program is voluntary and available to members in good standing with Sask Sport Inc. Funds raised are used to ensure quality sporting opportunities will continue to be available to everyone in Saskatchewan.
