Nominees announced for the Sask Sport Inc. December Athlete of the Month Award

The following athletes are nominees for the Sask Sport Inc. December Athlete of the Month Award:

Tarsch Bakos, 30, Saskatoon. Bakos won first place at the Canadian Selection Circuit #2 in Richmond, BC. He competed against 67 athletes from nine provinces. Due to this accomplishment, Bakos was named to the Canadian High Performance Squad. He was nominated by the Saskatchewan Fencing Association.

Jayd Lukenchuk, 16, Saskatoon. Lukenchuk won the vault and rings events and was second in the horizontal bar at the Elite Canada Gymnastics Championships. Due to these placings, he finished first all-round at the championships. There were 13 competitors in his category. Due to these accomplishments, Lukenchuk was named to the Canadian team, which will compete at the Stella Zahkarova championships in Ukraine. He will also be competing at the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, YK. Lukenchuk was nominated by Gymnastics Saskatchewan.
