Regina Squids Senior Men's Water Polo Team Sask Sport Inc. May Athletes of the Month

The Regina Squids Senior Men's Water Polo Team have been named the Sask Sport Inc. May Athletes of the Month. They captured the National title and earned Gold at the Senior Men's National Championship in Montréal by defeating the Hamilton Aquatics 15-8 in the final match.

Water Polo Canada's top 8 men's teams from (CNWPL) Canadian National Water Polo League battled in Montreal May 19-21 for the final championship title, Canada's premier event.

Regina Squids Senior Men's Water Polo Team consists of 11 members: Kevin Graham, Mike Brough, Noah Miller, Robin Randall, Petros Aigintis, Luke Murtha, Taso Harbis, Justin Beitel, Mark Smorong, Rob Pesun and Andre Koch. The team is coached by Mike Mortin who introduced a 3 year plan to win this Championship. Mortin has coached the Senior team for 5 years.

As a result of the Regina Squids performance team members Kevin Graham, Noah Miller and Robin Randall were named to the All Star Team and Kevin Graham was also named M.V.P. in the league.

The Regina Squids were nominated by Water Polo Sask.

The other nominees were: Alexandra Wrubleski, Cycling, Regina; Casey Berry, Baton Twirling, Saskatoon; Nicole Cargill, Synchro, Regina; and Alan Hewlett, Fencing, Saskatoon.
