World Senior Men's Championship Team named Sask Sport Inc. May Athlete of the Month

The Eugene Hritzuk Senior Men's Curling Team is the recipient of the Sask Sport Inc. Athlete of the Month.

Lead by skip Eugene Hritzuk, the team consists of third Kevin Kalthoff, second Verne Anderson, and lead Dave Folk. The team won the 2009 World Senior Men's Curling Championship in Dunedin, New Zealand, finishing unbeaten with a 5-0 record, a game ahead of former champion Keith Prentice of Scotland. Team members are from Saskatoon, Humboldt, and Wadena. The team was nominated by the Saskatchewan Curling Association.

The other nominees were: Ivan English, Saskatoon, Mike Vincent, Regina, canoe; Jessica Guenther, Saskatoon, synchronized swimming; Kris Odegard, Saskatoon, racquetball; Team Saskatchewan Women's Hockey; Team Saskatchewan Junior Men's Handball; Jason Warick, Saskatoon, athletics; Meta Woods, Regina, swimming.
